Teamsters Urge House to Pass Bill Banning Unsafe Mexican Trucks

Washington, D.C. – Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa said he hopes Congress will vote to close the border to dangerous trucks from Mexico.

Last year, Congress voted overwhelmingly to ban the cross-border trucking pilot program, but the Bush administration ignored the law. Even though there is strong bipartisan support in Congress for closing the border, the Transportation Department announced it is extending the program for another two years.

It doesn't really matter what Congress decides on the issue, does it?

Bush and Mary Peters both, to all intents and purposes, flipped the legislators off and not only did what they wanted to do..... regardless of what they were specifically forbidden to do......., but then had to gall to go ahead and announce that they were going to continue to with this nonsense for another two years.

And if they were denied funding for this madness, where is the money coming from? Where are they skimming it from to finance their little project.?

WHEN is there going to be consequences for this?
