    With a work permit, an immigrant can get a Social Security number and driver's license and secure credit, the ombudsman said. In some parts of the country, the wait for a green card is so long, immigrants can get three or more work permits before their green card application is adjudicated.
    ALIENS should not be entitled to the 'privileges' of citizenship -- a SSN and drivers license are 'privileges'
