PASADENA, CA — On August 14, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear a Trump administration challenge to a preliminary injunction – issued by a federal court last year — that prevented the Department of Homeland Security from terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 300,000 people from El Salvador, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Sudan. TPS holders and their children won the injunction in the case, Ramos v. Nielsen, based on substantial evidence that racial bias motivated the decision to terminate temporary protected status protections.

A separate case, Bhattarai v. Nielsen, challenges the termination of TPS for 100,000 people from Nepal and Honduras. The government agreed to put those terminations on hold pending the outcome of the Ramos appeal.

Before the Ramos v. Nielsen court hearing begins, TPS holders and their families — plus union members and other supporters — will march to the courthouse to defend the rights of those with TPS and urge congressional action to grant permanent protections to TPS holders.

WHAT: March and press conference before a hearing on a government challenge to a preliminary injunction handed down by a court to halt temporary protected status terminations.

    WHEN: August 14, 2019

March begins at 7am at All Saints Church, 132 Euclid Ave., Pasadena.
Press Conference begins at 8am at U.S. Court of Appeals, 125 S. Grand Ave, Pasadena.

Hearing begins at 9am at U.S. Court of Appeals, 125 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena.

WHO: Speakers and marchers will include temporary protected status holders and family members; attorneys from NDLON, the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, Sidley Austin LLP, members of the National TPS Alliance, CARECEN-LA, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Working Families United, Adhikaar, Haitian Bridge Alliance, African Communities Together, and UNITE-HERE.

These mouthy ungrateful people come here, TAKE from us, protest and refuse to leave.

Do not let them come here to begin with...and not ONE taxpayer dime to support them!

    We owe them nothing.

Say "thank you", sell out, pack up and go home!
