They better get on this now. I just got back from my local grocery store and 90% of the people were Hispanic and speaking Spanish. You could see the trail of anchor babies following them along. I'm sure the word is out and they are having babies as fast as they can to get those hand-outs. I also had to make a deposit and everyone was Hispanic and most of them were carrying envelopes from the federal government. Not sure what the checks in them were for. One of those special "help the poor illegal immigrant" programs we have.

Good for him. That would be a good start to thwarting incentives.

Millions of anchor babies are everywhere and their numbers continue to increase. Having to fund everything for these kids is what is bankrupting hospitals, crippling schools, wiping out Medicaid, food stamps, , etc. etc. Deporting pregnant illegals is just as important as e-verify and a border fence.

I am so proud to see that two of my congressman are co-sponsors of this bill! I have great hope for this, but know until the republicans are back in power this is probably not going anywhere.

Oh, come on now. Let's be fair. Let's think-up all of the advantages of leaving the birthright-citizenship clause in the 14th Amendment. For one, there's.....well....there's.....come to think of it, I can't find any advantage in the standard, present wording and interpretation. Can you?

This anchor-baby business just burns me up - the 14th amend. was specifically for the freed slaves of African descent who were too many generations removed from their countries - hence the text about parents not being under the jurisdiction of another country - and thus to give them US citizenship.

It in NO WAY, SHAPE or MANNER was this ever meant to grant citizenship to the offspring of FOREIGN NATIONALS who were lucky enough to drop a kid on US soil.

What idiot ever started giving the anchor babies of ILLEGAL INVADERS citizenship???? I don't think this was going on back in the Eisenhower era of "Operation Wetback'.

This gross flaw in procedure needs to be corrected and 'oops, were sorry, but you are not really a US citizen' cards also sent out. The anchor babies are spawned from ILLEGAL INVADERS who are FOREIGN NATIONALS - thus their offspring already have citizenship of the foreign country of the parents. Is that so hard to comprehend?????

WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE, Barry? I still question your citizenship.
WHERE'S THE REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE, Barry? I still question your citizenship.
