A southern Texas man was arrested and jailed for ordering his four dogs to attack a Border Patrol agent who was trying to catch a group of illegal immigrants.

A Border Patrol agent was chasing several illegal immigrants through an empty lot in the Southmost area of Brownsville when Luis Enrique Garcia, 22, sicced his four medium-sized dogs on the agent, police said, a local CBS affiliate reported.

The agent told Mr. Garcia to call off his dogs but he allegedly ran inside his home.

Mr. Garcia was charged with one count of aggravated assault on a public servant and released from custody after posting a $25,000 bond, the station reported.

Brownsville Animal Control officers were called for the dogs. The Border Patrol agent was reportedly unharmed.
