Texas and GOP Gov. Greg Abbott show no sign of complying with the Justice Department's Monday deadline to remove buoys anchored in the Rio Grande River to stop illegal immigration, or at least being discussions on the matter, or face a lawsuit.

In a letter sent last week, the agency has given Abbott and intern state Attorney General xxx until 2 p.m Monday to comply, saying the buoys create “serious risks” to public safety and the environment and violate federal law.

Texas also has razor wire along the Rio Grande, which also is an issue.

Over 80 Democratic lawmakers sent a letter Friday to President Biden calling on him to investigate Abbott’s “dangerous and cruel actions.”

Abbott says Texas has “sovereign authority,” to protect the border, according to CNN.
