Things Get Interesting When Fox News' Bill Melugin Corners Mayorkas, D.C. Dems on Border Crisis

We’ve previously reported on how Democrats – especially those in the Biden White House – have become especially triggered by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, whose ongoing in-depth reports on the worsening crisis at the southern border hit a little too close to home for an administration that has consistently tried to sweep the problem under the rug as far as the media and the public are concerned.

Pathetically, the attacks on Melugin went from
criticizing the fact that he was the first to report on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flying two planeloads of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, and then went so low as to mock Melugin because he once was recommended for a job at a retail clothing store because of his good looks while he was in college.

Fortunately for America and unfortunately for Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats, Melugin remains undaunted, as evidenced by a trip
he took to Washington, D.C. last week where he confronted numerous Democratic lawmakers as well as Dept. of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas on false claims from Vice President Kamala Harris and others that the border is “secure.”

As you can see from the video clip below, Melugin confronted a number of Democrats including Reps. Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) and Benny Thompson (Miss.), both of who either refused to comment or made snide comments that had nothing to do with the question. When Melugin asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during a press briefing, she bizarrely claimed without evidence that Biden was already working on a plan to solve the border crisis .

Some Texas Democrats who are at the center of the border crisis did provide brief comment, but Henry Cuellar was most vocal among them, stating that Democrats now “own” this issue and that if they didn’t solve it, it was going to be on them.

What I found particularly interesting about the clip is how Mayorkas not only did not want to talk about the border crisis but blew off Melugin much in the way his department did when Melugin sent an email to them noting he was going to be in D.C. and requesting a sit-down interview.

NEW: We’ve been in D.C. for the last week, questioning politicians on Capitol Hill face to face about the border crisis. Several refused to talk to us, including DHS Secretary @AliMayorkas, who we tracked down in person after @DHSgov never responded to our interview request.

Avoiding this issue is not going to solve it, and any Democrat who won’t go on record with where they stand on it risks hurting their party even more in the November elections, whether those no-comment Dems are in swing districts or safe ones.

Illegal immigration has consistently ranked as a top issue for voters headed into the midterms – with Joe Biden receiving dismal ratings on his handling of it, and seeming disinterest in the issue or pretending it’s not happening is just not a good look no matter what side of the aisle you’re on.

Not that I ever want to stand in the way of Democrats when they’re self-destructing. But just sayin’, ya know?
