SF activists on hunger strike for undocumented immigrants

Friday night's rain did not stop more than 50 activists from continuing a hunger strike in front of the San Francisco Federal Building.

The hunger strike, in its fifth day today, is part of a weeklong protest against U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter's bill, which activists say unfairly targets undocumented immigrants.

The House of Representatives passed the `Border Protection Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act,'' also known as HR 4437 on Dec. 16, 2005.

The senate plans to review the bill this month.

On Friday afternoon activists delivered 8,000 postcards signed by Bay Area residents to Sen. Diane Feinstein's San Francisco office. The postcards urged Feinstein to support comprehensive immigration reform. They stated, `we need you to demonstrate leadership by opposing mean-spirited attempts at 'immigration reform' that only criminalize immigrants and threaten caring individuals that help those in need.`

`We are hoping that Feinstein will take a leadership role in opposing Specter's bill. We want to know her stance on indoctrinated immigrants,` said activist Sheila Chung, daughter of immigrant parents from Korea and Argentina.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. today in front of the Federal Building located at 450 Golden Gate Ave.

Those participating in the hunger strike are journaling their daily activities in an online blog, which can be found at http://immigrantrights.blogspot.com.

It's really kinda funny when you think about it. Have you seen an under-fed illegal alien lately? All pretty round, chubby and well-fed if you ask me. That's hilarious...Americans starving themselves for a bunch of chubby illegal aliens. Even the aliens will get a kick out of that one.

How can targeting undocumented immigrants for undocumented violations be unfair targeting of undocumented immigrants?

That's like saying murder laws unfairly targets murderers.

There is no one else to target for illegal immigration violations except illegal aliens and their aiders and abetters.

I say deport them all!

I say our Reps need to know about the millions of wacko's they have let in here....this demanding crap has to stop!

So what !! Our side can go on a hunger strike too. And we'll be smart enough to stick some candy bars under our shirts. (Everybody knows that's what they do) Look under their beds....butter fingers, snickers, tootsie pops, m&m's, milk duds,....it's all there.

We could also just call in some Ford Models...who can OUT NOT EAT anyone anyday....and look fabulous at the same time. In fact, before it was over...no one would give a hoot about illegal aliens...they'd be star-gazing at our tall thin beauties saying "illegal" what? "Illegal aliens?" Oh, just get get them out of here, we've got better things to focus on!

You folks do understand the current definition of a "hungar strike", don't you.

You don't eat until you get hungry, then someone else takes your place while you go get something to eat. Repeat as necessary.

Hunger strikes are the biggest load of crap, I don't care who does them.


I do like, however seeing the hidden video of a leader of a hunger strike, (in prison perhaps), who sneaks food, while his loyal followers go without.

Watching the "holy leader" trying to be sneaky as he eats is hilarious.
