Three men jailed in orchard rape case
Woman found in ditch

Three migrant orchard workers are in custody today under suspicion of first-degree rape, a class A felony, after a woman was found naked in a ditch early this morning.

The men, two adults and one juvenile, were arrested at 5:30 a.m. at East 15th and Kelly Avenue. Authorities believe the rape occurred between 1 and 1:30 a.m. The sheriff’s office got a call just after 2:04 a.m. from someone who said she had found a naked female in a ditch in the 2000 block of Dry Hollow Road. The victim, 21, was taken to the hospital.

The sheriff’s log stated four men were seen running from the area.

Two of the men are in jail and a third is in juvenile detention at the regional jail today. All are accused of first-degree rape.

Arrested on the charge and in the adult facility are Juan Gerardo Moreno Avilez, 19, and Jorge Alberto Cisneros, 20, both of 2525 W. Eighth St. They live in different spaces at that address.

In the juvenile facility is Agustin Gallo, 17, according to a sheriff’s office log entry. No address was available for him.

Sgt. Terry Scattergood of the Wasco County Sheriff’s office said a party in one of the cabins at the orchard, where the men are believed to work, “got a little bit out of hand,â€
