Three Texas men plead in transporting illegal alien case
LUBBOCK, Texas Three Cleburne men have pleaded guilty to charges of transporting illegal aliens for private financial gain -- plus aiding and abetting.
Prosecutors say Jorge Luis Castro-Garcia, Jesse Cano and Agustin Anorga face a maximum of ten years in prison and 250-thousand dollar fines over the March 18th incident.
No sentencing date was immediately set in federal court in Lubbock, where the trio pleaded guilty yesterday.
Investigators say Castro-Garcia hired Cano and Anorga to help him drive about one dozen Mexican nationals from the Del Rio area to Cleburne.
Each drove separate vehicles, but Anorga crashed his S-U-V near El Dorado -- in an accident that killed one illegal immigrant and seriously hurt another.
