The recent journey from a small town in northern Guatemala to the Rancho Bernardo corner where he waits for construction work in the mornings was harrowing for Juan Aguirres.
Aguirres, 21, who left home last month, spent more than two weeks riding northbound buses through Mexico en route to the Texas border, where he was smuggled into the United States. Along the way he was extorted about half a dozen times by Mexican authorities, he said.
“The police would ask me where I was going,â€"Distrust and caution are the parents of security."

More illegals "hiding in the shadows" by plastering their woes of the journey in the paper. WHERE is ICE when these stories come out?

You know I am sick of reading this stuff! They know what they are doing when they decide to come her illegal. They know what happens they know they are leaving their families. These are their decisions! Not the best apparently.
But they decided to risk it and families to come here illegal, they know they are not citizens but they have babies and again they know the risk of being seperated from them. They have choices and make them! Mexico can't be so poor if they are paying 1000's to come here.
I don't expect my neighboors to pay for my mistakes and stupid choices why would they?
they are responsible for there own decisions! Like all of us!

So we know this illegal alien's name, where he came from, and where he illegally solicits work. C'mon ICE, do your job! This further shows how our southern border is far from secure -- no matter how many bogus, deceitful press conferences Chertoff stages.
