    â–* Feb. 26: Farm workers Alex Aguilar, 29, and Marcial Morales-Maldonado, 48, are murdered with a machete during an alleged altercation with co-worker Carlos Reyes, 41, on the Sterling Chase Horse Farm in Springfield. The murder is witnessed by Reyes’ brother Cesar Reyes, 38.

    â–* Feb. 28: The mutilated bodies of Aguilar and Morales-Maldonado are discovered at around dawn by another farm worker. The two brothers, who lived with the deceased, are determined to be missing.

    â–* March 1: An autopsy by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office determines that Aguilar and Morales-Maldonado were killed as a result of “massive head trauma caused by hacking and cutting consistent with a machete.â€
