TN: GOP Lawmakers To Unveil 3 Immigration Proposals
GOP Lawmakers To Unveil 3 Immigration Proposals

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
The Tennessee GOP said they're vastly streamlining their approach to tackling illegal immigration issues this legislative session.
On Wednesday, Republican lawmakers are expected to unveil three key proposals assembled by a task force of lawmakers.
They include requiring employers to check immigration status through the Government's E-Verify program; mandating similar checks for organizations who distribute government entitlements; and increasing police authority to check immigration status.
Republicans say the narrowed focus frees up lawmakers to work on other pressing challenges like education and the economy.
