According to the Department of Justice, Juan Mendez pleaded guilty to two counts of Commercial Sex Trafficking of two little girls.

On Thursday, December 13, 2007, Mendez told a Judge that he forced two young girls to perform sex acts for money. He admitted that he knew both girls were told they would be working in restaurants, to lure them into the United States. He says he then used force, fraud, and coercion to make the girls work as prostitutes.

The Department of Justice says eight other people pleaded guilty in this case. The charges include: child sex trafficking, conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens, conspiracy to commit money laundering, enticing an individual to travel in interstate commerce to commit prostitution, and failure to file a factual statement about an alien.

Mendez could face life in prison.
