US Border Patrol agents are touting two major busts in the Southland over two consecutive days this week.

Early Friday morning, an agent stopped a U-Haul truck at the Highway 86 checkpoint in Salton City.

A K-9 unit found 31 cardboard boxes with 109 bundles of marijuana said to be valued at more than $1.2 million.

Agents arrested the driver who was a Mexican citizen legally in the US.

Also on Thursday, Border Patrol agents in Ocotillo found a vehicle with more than 120 points of marijuana in the gas tank.

An agent noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at a local gas station.

After having a K-9 unit search the vehicle, agents had it transported to a border station where the vehicle was dismantled.

The marijuana found is valued at almost $100,000.

No word on any arrests in that discovery.
