In-State Tuition Denied to Student From Canada

WILMINGTON -- According to Wilmington's Star News, a Canadian student attending UNCW will not be allowed to pay in-state tuition.

Monique Cuff, 25 years old, met with members of the UNCW Residency Appeals Board in February.

The junior is currently paying the out-of-state tuition fee, but said she was paying in-state tuition at Wake Technical College in Raleigh.

Cuff, who is from Canada and does not have a green card, filed an appeal with UNCW. Her request was denied by the university.

    In-State Tuition

I'm guessing the ACLU and La Raza will not be coming to her defense?

The rules apply to everyone, regardless of country of origin.
