Fugitive with 5 Million Bail Apprehended in CA. by CBP Officers

San Ysidro, CA. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers apprehended a 59-year old fugitive with an outstanding felony warrant at the San Ysidro port of entry, CBP officials announced today. The man was wanted for dangerous drugs, according to a warrant issued out of the Los Angeles Police Department. Bail was set at $5 million.

CBP officers intercepted Marco Antonio Carrasco at about noon on Friday, February 29, when he entered the San Ysidro border crossing as a passenger in a 1994 Ford F-150. Carrasco, a citizen of Mexico, presented his lawfully issued laser visa to officers.

Officers were alerted that Carrasco was wanted after they ran his name against law enforcement databases. The vehicle and occupants were escorted into the secondary lot for further processing.

During the secondary inspection CBP officers with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents confirmed Carrasco’s identity and that he was the subject of an active felony warrant out of Los Angeles.

Carrasco was transported to the San Diego County jail.
