Believe it or not, this may actually be a blessing in disguise. I imagine a lot of people got a job at the border patrol for the fact that they could sit around most of the day, not doing a damn thing while collecting a paycheck. Some may also have quit in protest because they don't actually believe deep down inside that illegals should be kept out of our country, but it didn't bother them before because they weren't required to do their job under previous admininstrations, just like ICE, having it's hands tied behind it's back.
I believe that once all of the bad seeds are purged from the border patrol, by their voluntary termination, that quality people will start replacing them. People who are actually gung-ho about upholding our immigration laws.

I don't believe any of that. It'll be easy peasy. You just hire good solid Americans to guard the border. There are millions of Americans who would do this work. They may not want to do it for the rest of their lives, they may want to do it for 2 or 3 years, maybe 4 or 5, but that's fine. Hire based on a high turnover. Lots of industries and business do this, this job doesn't have to be a lifetime job, hire someone who is willing to do it for 2 or 3 years and then hire another one behind them to fill the space. Maybe they only want to do it for 1 or 2 years. So what? Hire them. Put 'em to work.
But hey, you got to advertise. You need to get on Fox and Friends and promote the jobs, tell them what the pay is, what the benefits are, what the job entails. While you'd like career people, you are also looking for people who want some job experience, doing something important for our country, who need the work and can do the basics of it. There will be on the job training where needed.
Geez, I don't think they know how to recruit workers for Border Patrol.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Need a job? Customs and Border Patrol is hiring
Emani Payne, KCEN 7:00 PM. CDT April 10, 2017
KILLEEN - U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were in Killeen Monday, recruiting local residents for jobs along the border with Mexico.
In executive orders issued just days after his inauguration, President Donald Trump called for the hiring of 10,000 new immigration officers and 5,000 additional border agents. So, Customs and Border Protection officials are making a major hiring push to find enough qualified applicants to fill those jobs.
"We have taken immediate action to implement the President's Executive Order to achieve operational control of the southern border. CBP has worked aggressively over the past two years to implement a multifaceted recruitment strategy and execute large-scale improvements to its frontline hiring process and capability," a representative for CBP said in a statement.
The federal agency hosted a job fair at Texas A&M Central Texas to introduce veterans, local students and interested attendees to the specialized law enforcement field. Agents explained the rigorous application process, which includes a polygraph test, a medical exam, background check and fitness test. Attendees also learned about resume building, starting pay ranges, benefits and veteran perks, such as age exemptions for veterans.
"I'm interested in becoming an agent because of continued service and self worth," said Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Spears, who attended the recruitment event. "I've been in the Army for 17 years and am just compelled to continue to serve my country."
President Trump's first budget proposal recommended adding $4.5 billion in new spending to fight immigration.

I think that $32,844 is your problem in hiring and probably even keeping Border Patrol Agents. You'd make more money being a bouncer in a bar. RAISE THE PAY for cryin' out loud. Raise it to $40,000 with no college or polygraph required, and see what happens. I mean I budgeted $40,000 for the Border Guards for my Wall of Americans, assuming that an Agent would be a step above to do office work, technical and legal activities that might require more of something to do.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

BORDER PATROL AND ICE ARE LOSING OFFICERS, RECRUITS AND CAN’T KEEP UP WITH TRUMP EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY GREG PRICE ON 4/14/17 AT 5:20 PM
newsweek.com
President Donald Trump campaigned on a stronger immigration policy, one that involved more deportations and an expansion of personnel at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, especially within Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Problem is, CBP and ICE are having a difficult time fulfilling the president's promise, at least according to some of the federal agency’s highest-ranking officers.
“If you know people who are enthusiastic about border security please send them to Customs and Border Protection (CBP),” Border Patrol chief Ronald Vitiello said Wednesday at the Border Security Expo in San Antonio, Texas according to The Guardian. “We’re already behind. We’re not hiring fast enough to keep up with the attrition.”
The CBP will attempt to improve its “brand awareness” by upping its presence on social media and expanding its outreach to schools and colleges, and they'll also work in collaboration with the Department of Defense to attract service members to its frontline positions in order to meet Trump’s order, a CBP spokesperson told Newsweek in an e-mailed statement.
The spokesperson also pointed to a speed-up in CBP’s “time-to-hire” process for frontline personnel, which was 469 days in January 2016 but dipped to 308 days in December. And as of last month, its expedited hiring process has been sped up to as quickly as 165 days, on average.
Still, Vitiello’s comment was largely echoed by the CBP’s acting deputy commissioner, Randolph Alles, who stressed that the jobs may not be too appealing to potential applicants because of their location and that hiring had been a problem for quite some time before Trump.
“Some people just don’t want to live there,” Alles said. “Hiring challenges are not new. Attracting and recruiting high-quality individuals is a challenge for us.”
Related Stories
Another issue they face is the stringent review process for the jobs, but Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly issued memos in February that enacted Trump’s executive order from January 25 and called for 5,000 more Border Patrol agents as well as 10,000 ICE officers, numbers which raised concerns with both Vitiello and Alles with regards to Border Patrol agents moving over to ICE in order to fulfill the president’s order.
Though keeping up with the demand for more manpower has evidently proven difficult, ICE has been effective. In a 12-day span earlier this month, it detained 153 people in South Texas, while 75 others were picked up in North Texas, and another 82 total across Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia over a period of five days, according to Fusion.
Another series of raids earlier this year resulted in the detention of 680 people by offices in major cities such as Los Angeles, San Antonio, Chicago, Atlanta and New York City, the Department of Homeland Security said in February according to CNN.
Kelly said in a statement at the time that about 75 percent of those detained were “criminal aliens.”
