Trump blames Democrats for separating migrant families at the border

President Trump on Saturday called for an end to his administration's policy of separating undocumented immigrant families at the border for legal prosecution, blaming Democrats for inaction on immigration policy.

"Put pressure on the Democrats to end the horrible law that separates children from there parents once they cross the Border into the U.S. Catch and Release, Lottery and Chain must also go with it and we MUST continue building the WALL! DEMOCRATS ARE PROTECTING MS-13 THUGS," Trump tweeted.

A Trump administration policy announced by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) earlier this month mandates the prosecution of adults separately from children when families arrive at the U.S. border seeking asylum.

“If you cross the border unlawfully, then we will prosecute you. It’s that simple,” Sessions said. “If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you. And that child may be separated from you, as required by law.”

Trump has blamed Democrats for the policy, and accuses Democrats of desiring "open borders" that would allow criminal migrants, such as members of the gang MS-13, into the country.

Prosecute the parents and then deport the minor children into the CARE & CUSTODY of their country.

We are not the World's babysitter.

When parents are done serving time...they get deported to.

Their country can find their relatives on their soil and haNd the children over to THEM! Not the USA or it's taxpayers!

CATCH THEM AND RELEASE THEM ON THEIR SOIL AND SHUT THIS DOWN!!!

We have American's who are prosecuted, who go to jail and their family takes the kids!

DEPORT THEM ALL!

It is as much the fault of republicans. Unfortunately for America, amnesty efforts continue on with President Trump who allows DACA renewals and pleads for another amnesty. Three decades beyond 1986, with republicans and democrats in charge at different times, our government has failed to enforce immigration laws and permitted tens of millions more illegal aliens to enter and violate laws.

Stop the excuses for people to enter the United States. The ruse taught to and now claimed by most will be "credible fear." Asylum seekers should be told to seek asylum in Mexico, the first pass through country. No money to reward Mexico and others who desire to replace our population and our American jobs while profitting from it. Use "expedited removal" more broadly, no matter where they come from originally. Too many people in charge, border patrol and judges, the decision makers, are granting asylum based on what someone says.

Am I reading that President Trump doesn't want to prosecute illegal aliens? They should be treated no differently than any other criminal. When a person is arrested, their children are taken away from them!

The solution is to turn them away at the border. Then there is no need to separate the adults from their children. To that extent, Democrats and Republicans are both at fault because we have not taken away the benefits that lure them to this country.

Trumps "policy" had better be to keep the "family" together and deport them all together within 24 hours.

Fingerprint and process the parents...they will NEVER be able to come back legally.

Is Trump actually undermining his own administration's attempt to deter illegal families from attempting to illegal cross the border? This completely undermines the actions and words of AG Sessions!

There's clearly a different view of what to do with illegal aliens when they're arrested between Sessions and Trump. Trump wants them deported whereas Sessions wants to prosecute and jail them. Not sure where Sessions thinks he's going to jail them for years waiting for trials and then serving their sentences whatever that turns out to be. Trump doesn't want to spend money on trials and jails for illegal aliens, he wants the whole family deported as a single unit, not prosecuted and jailed for years and then deported.

What a load of crap. Sessions is threatening them with prosecution to deter them from entering. He wants them to know the border is closed and anyone that enters is doing so at there own peril. I think it's way past time we let the illegals know we'll no longer give a wink and nod to those illegally crossing our border .... there will be consequences. Sessions knows exactly what he's doing and I applaud him for it!

Let us know when he's finished "prosecuting" the 1,000,000 already in line awaiting their deportation hearing and as I understand it are roaming our land free as birds until they are and even long after the deportation orders are issued.
