McAllen Taxpayers to be Reimbursed for Expenses Spent MCALLEN – Taxpayers in McAllen will be reimbursed for money spent managing immigrant families who were released by the government in the city.

About $350,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is going to McAllen, the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley and Catholic Charities.

The funding will reimburse expenses made on food, shelter, transportation and medical needs.

Exactly what I thought----Catholic Charities being reimbursed!

This isn't under Obama's watch, this is Trump's watch, and it is still happening!

If you let them in to "prosecute" to teach them a lesson, you have to pay for it. I agree with you that all these 501 C 3 phony "charities" collecting money from the federal government should not be paid to do this by the federal government. It's profit-making, it's not charity. Pass the FairTax and shut them all down.

Jeff Sessions. He meant well, he thought he was sending a "tough on crime" message, but it was just a truly dumb and stupid idea. They should have all been turned away or deported at the border by Border Patrol and kept Justice Department out of it entirely.

The let them in to "prosecute" them was some hair-brained idea put forth by Jeff Sessions this spring. He wants to detain them, separate them from the kids, and prosecute the adults/parents to let them know that if you enter the US illegally, you will be prosecuted. He went all the way to the Border to hold a press conference to send out this message.

Jeff Sessions is the AG---he is not the CIC, therefore he can not put the military on the border to STOP them from coming in. Jeff didn't let them in, he is trying to deal with the situation after they were let in.

No, that's not what happened. Tramp said don't let them in, tell them "we're closed." So, the ones were turning themselves into Border Patrol at the Ports of Entry were being rejected and turned back by BP by rejecting their claims as false and fraudulent. Those that were sneaking in were also being turned back and deported at the border within the 100 mile rule they operate on. Then Sessions goes to the border to make his announcement that he wants to prosecute the frauds and the ones sneaking in.

Nothing is working. The troops are fixing flats and shoveling horse shit. BP is no longer turning them back but instead arresting them for fraud and illegal entry and forwarding them into the process for detention.

LOL!! No he hasn't. He's ordered DOD to prepare plans and programs for one to submit to Congress. He announced it with an Executive Order because they weren't doing what he was asking them to do. Congress will have to authorize whatever this new proposed branch is to be and do. He sees this as the next frontier and wants our country to be at least somewhat prepared to defend ourselves and not be caught with our pants down. What is wrong with that?! It's not something that will help him, this is far into the future, he's just doing what he thinks and feels needs to be done now to prepare our country for that time in the future. Why do you criticize him for that? You're acting like those people who opposed Reagan's strategic defense initiative, known as the "star wars program", yet almost 40 years later everyone is counting their chickens that this program will intercept a nuclear ICBM launched by North Korea and save California.

Actually, I think the majority of these folks are asylum claimants being released with their children to await their asylum hearing. If that's true, this has nothing to do with prosecuting illegal aliens, which I support.
