We want these family units and all illegal aliens safely transported into the care and custody of THEIR President within 48 hours.

President Trump says this will make a lot of people happy.

He says the borders are tough. No, they are not. They are porous. Fifty to one hundred thousand people coming across a month.

The president says anyone with a heart would see this when Ivanka and Melania were mentioned by a reporter.


The question is what is in the executive order? What happens to "zero tolerance."

Will activists start to sue since there is a signed executive order?

Donald Trump Previews Executive Action to Keep Illegal Immigrant Families Together

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he would sign a “preemptive” effort to keep illegal immigrant families together, previewing executive action on the issue.
“We have compassion, we want to keep families together. It’s very important,” Trump said. “I’ll be signing something in a little while that’s going to do that and the people in this room want to do that and they’re working on various pieces of legislation to get it done.”

Trump spoke about his plans during a White House meeting with Republican members of Congress about trade and immigration enforcement. His tone was markedly different from comments he made on Tuesday defending his administration’s commitment to enforcing the law.

“We have to be very strong on the border but at the same time we want to be very compassionate,” he said.

The president admitted that his executive action might not hold up in the courts, but cited former President Barack Obama’s DACA executive amnesty as an inspiration.
“When he signed it, he said I’m really not allowed to sign it, I’m going to sign it anyway,” he said commenting that several judges actually held up the legality of Obama’s executive action.

Establishment Republicans grew increasingly nervous about the dramatic media coverage of the zero tolerance border enforcement policies, signaled growing concern during the meeting.

Trump said he wanted more legal immigrants coming into the United States based on merit.

“We’re going to need those people because we have so many companies coming to the country,” he said.

Trump reminded the members that many smugglers were traveling with unrelated children to make it easier to enter the country.

“They use these children as passports to come into this country,” he said.
The president said that ultimately wanted a comprehensive immigration bill, but was ready to act now to respond to the crisis.

He also canceled the annual congressional picnic at the White House which was scheduled for Thursday.

“It didn’t feel exactly right to me,” Trump said, referring to the current crisis at the border.

Trump to Sign ‘Preemptive’ Order to End Family Separations at Border

President Trump said Wednesday that he would sign an executive order, drafted by Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, ending the practice of separating children from their parents after families are caught attempting to cross the border illegally.


Trump indicated that he would sign the order to end his administration’s “zero tolerance” immigration-enforcement policy, which has thus far separated roughly 2,000 children from parents who are awaiting trial. The order is expected to ensure that families remain together in specially equipped detention centers during their prosecution.


“I’ll be signing something in a little while that’s going to do that. I’ll be doing something that’s somewhat preemptive and ultimately will be matched by legislation I’m sure,” Trump told the White House press pool.


Administration officials reportedly expect a legal challenge to the new policy of detaining families together due to a 1997 order that mandates children be released from federal custody after 20 days.
Trump’s newfound willingness to act unilaterally to end family separation stands in sharp contrast to his repeated insistence that the practice could only be interrupted through legislative action.


The president’s comments came moments after Speaker Paul Ryan announced that the House will vote Thursday on immigration legislation that, in addition to increasing funding for border security and granting amnesty to Dreamers, would end the family separation policy and fund family detention centers. In a concession to conservatives, the House is also expected to vote Thursday on a more hardline immigration bill that does not address family separations; though neither bill has the requisite Democratic support to pass.
