Real estate mogul-turned-celebrity TV star Donald Trump already had an “Aha!” moment about his 2016 running mate.
After declaring his run for the White House Tuesday, Trump appeared on ABC and said Oprah Winfrey would complete his presidential dream ticket.
“I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah,” Trump said. “I think we’d win easily, actually.”

Trump had suggested Oprah as a potential sidekick once before — while considering a bid for the presidency in 1999.
Now that he’s officially running, he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that she’s a perfect fit.

“She’s great, she’s talented, she’s a friend of mine,” he said.

“She’s a good person. I’ve been on her show. In fact, I was on her show last week, she said, could I be on her show with the whole family?”
The Republican hopeful emphasized that everybody loves Oprah.

“I like Oprah. I mean, is that supposed to be a bad thing? I don’t think so,” Trump said.
Trump announced his presidential candidacy earlier Tuesday during a rousing speech at Trump Tower.

Oprah Backs Pres. Obama’s Agenda in Progressive Harvard Graduation Speech (VIDEO)

Not only was Oprah Winfrey’s one of then-Senator Barack Obama’s first and most passionate supporters back in 2008, in a commencement speech to Harvard’s 2013 graduates, she bravely reiterated her support of President Obama’s agenda.

Never been one to shy away from sharing her political opinions, Miss Winfrey talk frankly about the importance of gun-control, immigration reform, and several other top priorities of Pres. Obama’s second term agenda.

“We understand that the vast majority of people in this country believe in stronger background checks because they realize that we can uphold the Second Amendment and reduce the violence that is robbing us of our children. They don’t have to be incompatible,” she said to applause from the crowd.

She also spoke about the need for “a clear path to citizenship for the 12 million undocumented immigrants who reside in this country.”

“It’s possible to both enforce our laws and, at the same time, embrace the words on the Statue of Liberty that have welcomed generations of huddled masses to our shores,” she told the crowd. “We can do both.”
She also took on the cynical culture of Washington that Obama often decries.

“We are better than the cynicism and the pessimism that is regurgitated throughout Washington and the 24-hour cable news cycle,” she said.

While the Washington consensus might be that her ideas are divisive and controversial, the polls show her ideas are part of the American mainstream, as most Americans agree with her and the president.

Her stance on immigration is totally wrong, but she is a dynamic and talented person. That's why Trump he likes her, and he's right, that's a good thing.

She's off on the social issues. Ann Coulter is great on trade and immigration but her social issue positions are just wrong. Trump won't pick someone like that because he's not like that. I'm sure that's one of the reasons he likes Oprah so much, she's a good person.

Last week Oprah Winfrey charged that the United States was a racist nation, claiming that a whole generation of Americans were "born and bred and marinated" in racism and would have to die out before racism would end. She followed by saying that those who push back against President Obama's agenda do so because he is black.

Now the actress and media mogul is getting pushback herself, and this time she cannot brush it away with false charges of racism.
On his Monday radio show, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND (Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny) and the South Central L.A. Tea Party, chastised Ms. Winfrey for her comments:

Oprah Winfrey is sending a destructive and racist message to black youth. She made the outrageous claim that blacks in America are still terrorized by whites because of their race. I’m calling on Oprah to back up her claims and give proof of blacks being terrorized by whites. She can’t—because it’s not happening!

To the contrary, it’s black thugs who viciously attack and commit crimes against whites. Black criminals are also killing other blacks in cities like Chicago (Oprah’s hometown). Last year, the city had 500 black on black murders. When will Oprah talk about black racism and terror?
Successful blacks such as Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama and others who race-bait are doing a disservice to the black community. This type of racial demagoguery divides the races and encourages hatred and violence toward whites. It also shuts down honest and meaningful dialog between the races.

Winfrey is a billionaire and she built a media empire with white people’s support. The older generation of whites that she says need to die out in order for racism to vanish also watch her movies and purchase her products. Her success and the election of Barack Obama exemplify just how little white-on-black racism exists. For her to sully an entire segment of innocent white Americans to a foreign press outlet is racist and an insult to her own country.

Her recent comments are far more shameful than Paul Deen’s alleged use of a racial slur some thirty years ago. I believe that Oprah has always been a closet racist—she’s just free to express her racism because she’s no longer constrained by her show airing on a major network. She should immediately apologize to the American public for her remarks.”
