Two Dozen Suspected Gang Members Arrested In L.I.

MINEOLA, N.Y. -- Two dozen suspected gang members have been arrested in a Long Island gang sweep.

Nassau County police said their officers along with the FBI arrested eight members of the Rolling 60s -- which is an offshoot of the Crips -- during a raid on March 19 in Roosevelt.

The ages ranged from a juvenile under 16 to a a 22-year-old. They are charged with assorted drug possession, weapons possession and reckless endangerment charges.



Last Thursday, another 15 suspected gang members belonging to the Latin Kings were arrested in Nassau County. Police said nine are charged with state crimes, and six were turned over to the FBI to face federal charges.

Police said the suspects were in their early 20s to age 33. They face assorted weapons and drug possession charges
