Two Illegal Immigrants Face Charges
Two illegal immigrants are behind bars after being caught with nearly a pound of methamphetamine in an undercover drug sting in Winter Haven, according to a Polk County Sheriff's Office news release.

The two Mexican men were nabbed Wednesday night by members of the Polk sheriff's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force.

Undercover detectives acting on a tip were waiting in the parking lot of The Home Depot at 2000 Eighth St. when the men pulled up in a green Mazda with a Georgia license plate.

Zeferino Flores Gallegos, 31, and Martin Gonzalez Juarez, 32, both of whom live in the Atlanta area, were charged with trafficking and conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, a sheriff's report said.

The men are being held without bail at the Polk County Jail awaiting pickup by federal customs officials, the report said.
