Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies arrested two Modesto men Wednesday in connection with a shooting at a Crows Landing Road taco truck Aug. 19.

Kevin Argueta, of Modesto died at Doctors Medical Center several days later; his friend also was shot.

Nicolas Castaneda, 18, of Modesto was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and gang enhancements, deputy Royjindar Singh said.

Steven A. Pack and José T. Barajas, both 19 and of Modesto, were arrested Aug. 22 on the same charges.

Barajas turned himself in to the Sheriff's Department. He also had outstanding warrants for a prior robbery and at- tempted murder, Singh said.

Jeffrey Aguilar, 19, was arrested at 2 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of helping to hide Castaneda since the shooting.

Detectives learned this week that Castaneda was staying at a south Modesto house in the 2300 block of Gladwyne Court. They surrounded the home at 6:30 a.m. Wed- nesday.

Castaneda said he would come out, but instead ran out a back door, Singh said. He ran several blocks, jumping fences until Rudy, a sheriff's dog, pulled him down in the 600 block of Park Hurst Way. The dog bit Castaneda's leg during the chase, Singh said.
