FABENS -- Customs officers on Tuesday night seized more than 187 pounds of marijuana concealed in a pair of mattresses at the Fabens port of entry.

Customs officials said that just before 10 p.m., 24-year-old Tito Ismael Barron Uribe, of Salvarca, Mexico, was driving a 1994 Ford pickup and declared a load of furniture he was carrying into the United States.

Customs officials said officers noticed Barron Uribe was nervous during routine questioning, so they searched the pickup and cut open the mattresses, where they found 133 marijuana-filled bundles.
