MISSION — Four young men’s knees shook as they stood in court Thursday, accused of the murder of a 17-year-old Sharyland High School student.

Mission police arrested the young men — between 17 and 23 years old — who each could spend life in prison after the fatal shooting of Efrain Reyna on an upscale golf course Tuesday night.

Officers responded a call of shots fired at the intersection of Rio Grande Drive and Glasscock Road about 8:22 p.m. Tuesday.

Jaime Martinez, Sergio Montiel, David Alan Gonzalez and Rodolfo Arrieta allegedly met up with a rival group at the intersection — flanked by a hole on The Club at Cimarron golf course — for a fistfight, said Mission police Sgt. Jody Tittle, a department spokesman.

Each man was formally charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault at an arraignment hearing Thursday afternoon in Mission Municipal Court.
