TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — The body of an undocumented Honduran migrant executed in Texas has been returned to his homeland for burial.

Relatives say the execution of Heliberto Chi, 29, on Thursday was unfair.

Relatives gathered to meet his returning coffin at a local airport on Sunday, wearing T-shirts with Chi's photo and the slogan "For us and the people of Honduras, you will always live."

Chi was executed for the murder of a former boss during a 2001 robbery at Texas clothing store. He will be buried on Tuesday in the coastal city of San Pedro Sula.

Uncle Carlos Aceituno said "the Americans killed an innocent man," adding "his family wants to clear his name."

Because he was a criminal like all illegal aliens.

We probably paid that cost (or more so, Texas likely did). Either was, dead or alive, coffin or shackles, we would have paid his way home, this just ensured that justice was served beforehand and that this one criminal would not be returning to commit more murders.

What a message that must be sending right now to potential ones in their country, that if you come to the U.S. and commit murder, you will certainly not have the opportunity to come back after we send you home.

How many Americans are in foreign graves, where the governments have no qualms about leaving families unknowing their fate? And we give our solace to a family that raised and sent him into our midst; a tried, convicted murderer.

That was what came to my mind too!
If we start shipping bodies of illegals home we get screwed again.
This is beginning to be a joke of a country.
Well it has been for about 8 years.

You mean stay in his country and gang rape 2 little HONDURAS girls
for an hour or 2 and then stomp them to death, then add in a little stranglation???

He was lucky he didn't get what those two little girls got.

Of the 2 illegal/rapists/murderers only 1 went out like a man.
And it wasn't this weasel. Maybe the story should be sent to his family.
Don't forget to include the other guys confession of what they all did!

You know they sent him back to Mexico in a nice coffin when the elderly in this country can hardly afford to be buried.
Personally , I think they should stuff the remains into a body bag and just heave it over the fence and let the Mexican govt deal with it.
