Remarks from Monday night's televised debate between Democratic gubernatorial candidates Bill White and Farouk Shami.

Undocumented workers

The candidates were asked whether they would support a state requirement that employers use the E-verify system to ensure they weren't hiring undocumented aliens.

Shami: "Let's think of the human side of it. Without Mexicans, it would be like a day without sunshine in our state."

White: "I do not think a state . . . should be creating mandates on what private employers do."

I listened to about 5 minutes of these two baffoons talking and almost got sick to my stomach. They are both so out of touch with what the people of Texas want they are just making it too easy for a Republican candidate to get elected. Both swing about as far left as it goes.
