EL PASO, Texas -- Some El Pasoans are on a hunger strike for immigration reform.
Local immigration advocates and civil rights groups are on a hunger strike Wednesday and Thursday to protest the lack of progress on immigration reform in Washington.
One protest organizer said the U.S. government really has no functioning immigration policy right now.
"We're not doing anything to address the fact that we have 15 million people here in the country undocumented illegally. I don't think we're addressing the reasons why people come in the first place, which are for the most part, economic issues. Relationships between U.S. and Mexico.
