Columnists Debate Candidness in US-Mexico Border Issues
By Allan Wall
Is it better for the public not to know about problems on the U.S.-Mexican border?
The problem of Mexican soldiers and pseudo-soldiers aiding drug smugglers crossing the border is well-documented. It has been admitted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and has been the subject of testimony to Congress.
The border incursions are carried out by men wearing the same uniforms, driving the same vehicles, and bearing the same weapons as the Mexican army.
And some have fired on U.S. agents.
So either there is corruption in the Mexican army, or the army can’t control its materiel stores, or it can’t control the territory – or all of the above.
Isn’t this a problem we should be concerned about?
My fellow American in Mexico, Nancy Conroy, editor of the Gringo Gazette, believes the less said about the problem the better.

We should militarize the border from our side, in addition to having more border agents.

Build the FENCE with gates at the crossing Cities.
The way to end the problem is to BUILD THE FENCE; with gates at the crossing cities that can be LOCKED when needed. And it needs to go down 12 feet minimum to stop the tunnels along the Border.

It's possible the 'American in Mexico' mentioned in this article doesn't want anything derogatory said about Mexico. It is probably that she most definitely doesn't want us to enforce our laws and risk the ire of the Mexican government.
If the Mexican government gets upset, it is not inconceivable they will in some way retailiate against Americans living in Mexico.
We, the Americans, can't even enforce our criminal laws, immigration laws, or civil laws against their people or we are labelled as cruel, etc.. Somehow, though, I don't think they would hesitate to put pressure on America by threatening or pushing Americans down there.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Perhaps we need Blackwater out of Iraq and at the U.S./Mexican border?

Yes, the fence will help - but it won't do the job by itself.
Without interior enforcement, they will keep having babies every hour, our government will keep making them citizens as soon as they can stamp the papers. By the time we get through discussing the fence, then building the fence, it will be - "What illegals? They are all citizens now."
I believe that' s their goal.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Was this camp's location destroyed by the fires? If so, could be a reason for the fires in that area--to prevent Blackwater from building it.

Blackwater Mercenaries on the USA-Mexico Border
By Nancy Conroy
In San Diego County, California, a firestorm has erupted over plans to build a Blackwater mercenary training camp in the hills behind Potrero, a remote area east of the city. The residents of San Diego are opposing the idea on the grounds that firing ranges are noisy and mercenaries would be undesirable neighbors. So far the controversy has been a localized, “not in my backyard,â€"Distrust and caution are the parents of security."
