How Illegal Immigration Is Affecting Education

While the Houston Chronicle is afraid to mention the word illegal alien and in stead uses immigrant. I happen to know for a fact that this particular school is well over 60% illegal alien. This school use to be one of the best in Houston ISD in the 70's and was called Robert E. Lee HS. They had a Confederate Flag as part of their logo. Over time the community became infested with Mexican and El Salvadorian illegal aliens. Soon they changed their name to Lee HS and even dropped their football program because of the lack of interest. The surrounding community is so bad and so infested with gangs that even the Houston Police Department hates going in there. At one time, the SW Cholos threatened to go wo war with the HPD and take over the city. Going into this neighborhood at night is dangerous. During the day you would not even know you were in America. Anyway, read this story and it will be clear why our schools are failing

Falkenberg: Why did Paul Castro decide to leave Lee?
    By LISA FALKENBERG

To the casual observer, it might seem as if Paul Castro simply got in over his head at Lee High School.

As if, perhaps, the troubled Gulfton-area school's potentially toxic confluence of challenges — from the language barriers to the dropouts to student poverty, pregnancy, turnover and transience — was too much for even a 38-year-old rising star administrator to handle.

Students and teachers who learned last week of the talented young principal's decision to depart Lee, after only three months on the job, might understandably assume that Castro had assessed the situation and determined Lee's prospects for improvement hopeless.

At one time, the SW Cholos threatened to go wo war with the HPD and take over the city.
And yet, they fervently go after groups like the ones up in Michigan, but not this and other gangs, with the same fierceness?

I know the high school my 27 year old was like this one. So filled up with kids who refused to use English (she knew they could speak it, but pretended to not understand and then laugh about it). They also refused to cooperate in their own education, the parents cared so little, and were too busy trying to steal the American dream.

Some interesting comments on the source article most concerning how U.S. Citizens should turn up their sleeves and get to work solving this EDUCATION PROBLEM, of course the real problem is ILLEGALS and their Anchors. I responded to TexanFan1981 who was surprise that the ILLEGALS were illiterate in their own language and other problems our TEACHERS have to deal with when they attempt to "educate" the ILLEGALS and their Anchors:

My question is this? If they are illiterate in their own language? And cant read and write there own language? How are you suppose to teach them our language? Seems rather tough!!! And i thought once you were 18, that was it, you were out of the high school system, what is this comment I read about a 23-27 year old 10th grader?? Is that for real?

Stop this madness before you drown our education system attempting to educate the ILLEGALS and their anchors! Texas has a "bilingual" program for just "Spanish" speakers ONLY costing millions of dollars once it began to pick up steam. The ILLEGALS and their anchors in the Texas School System are so illiterate that "our" schools have to spend time and resources to teach the ILLEGALS and anchors "proper" Spanish before they can even consider teaching the ILLEGALS and anchors English! The ILLEGALS and anchors have their own program starting in pre-kindergarten through the 5th grade, seven years, and most do not or do not want to learn English. But the Feds and State of Texas continue to flood the school system with "our" money.

Don't be concerned, the ILLEGALS do not have any intention of learning English! They want to take over the United States for their Third World "home" countries or at the very least turn the United States into just another Third World Country so they may "feel" more at "home"!

The United States has always welcomed refugees and legal immigrants; the problem in the United States has to do with ILLEGALS invading our nation with out any desire to assimilate as citizens but only obtain citizenship in an effort to steal from our treasury, destroy our Education and Health systems, and take jobs from taxpaying citizens.

Some of "our" Elitist Politicians and their Elitist Political Contributors will not be satisfied until they turn the United States into just another Third World Country to allow them to continue to furnish CHEAP LABOR to their Special Interest Groups on the backs of the U.S. taxpayers. The Elitists are no more concerned about the ILLEGALS than they are of United States Citizens; JUST FOLLOW THE MONEY!

Not 27 but 21 is very common. We have so many kids that come into our education system in high school, that have never learned how to read or write their native language, much less having attended one day of school. Then teachers are all of the sudden responsible for teaching them 9+ years of education in English in less than 4 years so they can graduate. IMPOSSIBLE? That is what teachers are expected to do. Is it little wonder our school are falling apart?

Teaching these illegal aliens is a waste of money. We should let them stay illiterate. At my college we have an ESL program which I greatly despise. Why teach these people who have no interest learning or speaking English. They only want to learn enough English to get by when they get jobs.
We recognize that if you really want to create a job tomorrow, you can remove an illegal alien today

Teachers are asked to work miracles in impossible situations. When they can't--they get all the blame. It's very discouraging. My son sent the following cartoon that says it all!

The IA's, anchors, and thier supporters must be SO proud of the Empire of Dirt they are building here.
All they see is thier exploding numbers (and consider it a victory over whites) - but thats all they will ever be is a number- just one of millions in the third world country they turned this in to.

Sorry, I am more concerned about my family: my children and grandchildren receiving their education, ability to provide for their families, their security and not supporting ILLEGALS and their anchors via our taxes.
