The R&A is taking a stand.
According to The Independent, the R&A has decided that Trump Turnberry's Ailsa course on the Firth of Clyde in southwestern Scotland will not host future British Opens. This decision comes after its owner, business magnate Donald Trump, made controversial remarks regarding Muslims in the United States, in addition to earlier comments about Mexican immigrants.
The Independent wrote: "The Independent on Sunday can reveal, after golf’s governing body, headquartered in Scotland, privately decided that [Trump's] reputation is now so toxic that the newly renamed Trump Turnberry can no longer host the game’s most prestigious tournament.
"Controversial remarks made by Mr. Trump in his campaign for the Republican nomination -- about Muslims, Mexicans, Chinese and women, among others -- have given him a near-pariah status in the global game, raising the risk of a boycott by sponsors and international players."
This news comes just days after GOLF.com reported that the PGA Tour said it will consider other sites for the 2017 WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral.
Turnberry has hosted four Opens, the most recent of which was in 2009 when Stewart Cink outlasted 59-year-old Tom Watson in a four-hole playoff, and was likely to host a fifth in 2020. Trump bought the resort in April 2014.
With supervision from the R&A, the course is currently in the process of being renovated and lengthened, changes designed to help bring the British Open back to Turnberry. One "insider" told The Independent that "2020 will not happen here. Turnberry will be back. But perhaps not Trump Turnberry."

Yeah? Really?
Well, maybe Americans will take a stand and no longer visit Scotland.
I guess the spirit of William Wallace no longer lives in Scotland.
