ICE makes two arrests

Rafaela Briceno-Spencer, 52, was arrested by ICE agents and accused of harboring illegal immigrants. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Spencer was arrested at 11 a.m. Monday and had been using a hotel located in the 2500 block of E. Saunders Avenue to hold the immigrants.

Four Mexican nationals were discovered inside one of the motel rooms.

Thursday, Briceno-Spencer appeared before federal court and was formally charged. She remains in federal custody at this time.

ICE also arrested a Mexican citizen Tuesday and charged him with transporting illegal immigrants.

Victor Manuel Soria-Franco, 31, used the Wal-Mart parking lot to allegedly stage the transporting of illegal aliens, according to ICE.

On Tuesday, ICE responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot where Soria-Franco had been spotted conducting suspicious activity.

ICE agents coordinated with Webb County deputies to conduct a traffic stop after which Soria-Franco was arrested. Inside the vehicle were three Mexican males that he was attempting to transport. Soria-Franco remains in federal custody pending the outcome of his criminal case.

Those immigrants arrested were placed in removal proceedings. They remain in ICE custody.

Both of this people should be required to work on the fence between the US and Mexico.
