Ariz. law author says ‘BAN AMNESTY NOW’

Russell Pearce, the author of Arizona’s tough immigration law, has started a website and petition drive as a campaign against a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would provide a path to legalization for the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants now living in the United States.

Pearce is soliciting contributions for his campaign, called Ban Amnesty Now, that includes an online petition. His goal, he says, is to stop illegal immigration.

In an e-mail Pearce sent out on Monday, he is asking people to “join me today in standing up to President Barack Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder….â€
