Illegal Immigrants Found at Abandoned Home

Police working on tip

LA JOYA--- La Joya Police find 10 illegal immigrants at hiding out in an abandonded home after they receive a tip from a caller.

Authorities tell us a citizen called in stating an group of undocumented people crossed the expressway and were heading straight towards the water tower.

Police went out to investigate and found several people hiding out at an abandoned home. They were handed over to US Border Patrol agents.

Officer Joe Cantu with La Joya Police tells NEWSCHANNEL 5 he believes the water tower is being used as a marker to guide illegals to pickup points, and tells us they will now be patrolling the area more often.
