Nine men and four roofing companies in Kansas City have been charged with employing illegal immigrants.

The indictment announced Monday by prosecutors alleges that conspirators smuggled more than a dozen workers from Mexico to work in the roofing industry in KC.

Prosecutors say the scheme had been going on since April of 2001.

Those defendants have also been charged with conspiracy and money laundering.

Forty people in total have been arrested in connection with the scheme, 34 of those because of their illegal immigration status.

Now if they would just do this in every other city in this nation wwe would be getting somewhere. And not just the roofing companies but all of the carpenters, drywallers, brick mason's, concrete finishers, etc

I hope they're not doing these raids just to highlight the illegal employment problem to get support on the 'Guest Worker' program idea.

They should have beed doing it aggressively since 9-11. Chertoff is a sellout

They are pretending that they are enforcing the laws on the books so that when they come back with the Amnesty bill the next time they will have statistics to back up their temporary enforcement of existing laws.

When they drag Arellano out of that church in handcuffs and we get breaking News from CNN that this felon has been deported, then I might believe they mean business.

Compare Arellano's criminal conduct with that of the british woman who was deported with all due speed.
