    TX-Immigrant alleges Border Patrol brutality

    Immigrant alleges Border Patrol brutality

    Wednesday, July 08, 2009 at 5:03 p.m.

A Guatemalan immigrant has filed a brutality lawsuit against the Border Patrol after two agents allegedly broke his collarbone during his arrest.

The incident took originally took place in July 2007 but Roger Alvarado-Santay recently filed the lawsuit in Brownsville’s federal court.

The 19-year-old Guatemalan immigrant said in his excessive force lawsuit that he crossed the border near Brownsville on June 30, 2007.

Alvarado-Santay and a friend got separated from a group of immigrants while walking in the South Texas brush.

The two were resting under the shade of a tree when Border Patrol agents arrived.

The lawsuit alleges that the two tried to hide but ended up surrendering peacefully.

One of the Border Patrol agents allegedly had his gun drawn and shouted he would shoot him and bury him on the spot.

The agent allegedly added that, “Bullets are cheap.â€

Of course, the word is out that once you get to the US you can sue the pants off anyone for a big jackpot.

Amazing that he was able to walk all the way across Mexico totally unharmed, only to have USBP agents allegedly hurt him. Mhmm...

Illegal aliens and drug dealers have credibility issues but in the mean time, he gets a border crossing card.

Here we go again: immigrants not illegal aliens, like all of them had visas but had no money for transportation. Could it be that all their money went to a coyote to smuggle them rather than to buy a visa?
And how do you become separated from a group of people that easily, especially in a brush environment? It ain't the Amazon.

A second Border Patrol agent allegedly twisted the Guatemalan immigrant’s arm and handcuffed him behind his back.

The second Border Patrol agent allegedly shoved his face on the ground. The impact allegedly broke Alvarado-Santay’s collarbone.
Sounds like standard operating procedure to me. I've seen reality 'COP' shows to know that it's normal to slam a resisting supect to the ground (face down) and twist his arm behind his back for handcurffing.

Remember, we only have the word of two illegal aliens that there was no resistance. Also, the incident happened two years ago.

Please! These illegal invaders are experts at selective English and our judical system never makes it an issue! They say crap like, "he is not 'fluent in English,' but he understands it." ( Their comprehesion always increases substantially when they are being threatened).

These invaders will lie and then lie some more. What do they have to lose! Nada!

As soon as they have a chance to hit the lawsuit jackpot, their English comprehension becomes impeccable! Of course, they don't speak a word of English, but they always understand it!

It's amazing how fast they can learn English when a lawsuit is on the line. The BP agents were probably speaking to them in spanish, just as every other agency does in this country.

NoBueno is right - it is a requirement that all U.S. Border Patrol agents speak Spanish! So my point in this case probably was "pointless".
