LACY LAKEVIEW (January 8, 2013)-A Lacy Lakeview man was held Tuesday in the McLennan County Jail charged with sexual assault of a child.

Navar Jamal Sablan, 26, was booked into the jail early Tuesday morning after Lacy Lakeview police arrested him on a warrant charging sexual assault of a child and attempted sexual assault of a child.

He was also ordered held without bond on an immigration detainer.

Lacy Lakeview police Chief John Truehitt said officers arrested Sablan Monday night on a warrant issued by McLennan County Justice of the Peace David Puryea.

Truehitt said the incident occurred in early January at a Lacy Lakeview residence.

Truehitt said the 16-year-old female victim made an outcry to her parents after the assault and police were notified after a Child Protective Services worker interviewed the girl.

According to the police report the victim did not require medical attention for injuries.
