A Chihuahua man was caught at the Bridge of the Americas leaving the United States with close to $400,000 in likely drug proceeds stashed in the side panels of his car last Sunday, Customs and Border Protection officials said Thursday.

Alan Eduardo Salas Delgado, 22, a Mexican citizen from Chihuahua City, was stopped during a southbound operation by CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers checking for weapons and money being taken out of the United States illegally. Individuals are permitted to carry any amount of money in or out of the United States but they must report any amount above $10,000.

Gotta love those reverse inspection operations! ICE should be working more with local law enforcement agencies on there DUI and INS inspection check points, too!!

Since this was illegal drug money, and the border counties need help with cost of IA, I say let El Paso keep it.

$400,000 sure will buy lots of beans and tortillas, to feed them while they are waiting to be transferred back across the border. This would probably feed the southwest region for a year. NOW THAT WOULD BE HUMANE TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A FULL BELLY BEFORE THEY START THE LONG WALK HOME. BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THEIR FELLOW VATO'S.
