Man shot in butt will likely be deported

An 39-year-old Austin man who was charged with felony forgery after a unique injury prompted an investigation will likely be deported — along with his wife.

Domingo Esaul Sotoabad and Esperanza Hernandez-Hernandez, 38, were sentenced Thursday in Mower County court to 366-day stayed prison sentences, and both will be contacted by officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They had plead guilty to the charges last week.

The two had been found with a number of fraudulent documents, including Social Security cards, birth certificates and state IDs. Sotoabad had been working at Quality Pork Processors in Austin using the alias “Rodolfo Ramirez Jr.,â€
