A Nantucket brute with a history of violence gave his 3-month-old baby boy a Christmas Day beating that sent the child to the hospital, police said.

Gerson Francisco Lopez Delgado, a 22-year-old landscaper from El Salvador, was drunk when he grabbed the boy by the head and shook him violently until the child vomited, according to Nantucket police.

The baby is being treated at Children’s Hospital in Boston for undisclosed injuries. His condition was not released by authorities.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Children and Families, Jennifer Kritz, said the boy’s mother has custody of the child. Authorities refused to identify the mother.

The nightmare began on Christmas Eve, police said, when Delgado threatened his girlfriend - the boy’s mother - with a knife.

Delgado was arrested on Christmas Day, after the girlfriend called police, and was arraigned Monday in Nantucket District Court on charges of aggravated assault and battery on the baby, and assault with a dangerous weapon for the attack on his girlfriend.

U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement officers are probing whether Delgado is in the country illegally, according to police.

So they're now just getting around to this! How long and how many chances have they had with this guy to "probe" this compelling question? Do we have to wait until this guy killls someone before they ponder this question! No wonder illegal invaders walk around like they own the place and do as they damn well please!

But of course NB.....after all, the police don't want to be accused of racial profiling now do they?

And, personally, I think that's one of the reasons for this big public witch hunt against Joe Arpaio. It's not so much that they actually want to get him on anything.....they KNOW that the law is on his side.....but moreso to use him to intimidate law enforcement agencies and officers across the board.
