SAN DIEGO — The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the black .40-caliber service pistol of slain Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas, which was missing after he was killed Thursday.
Rosas was fatally shot while tracking a group of people near the U.S.-Mexico border presumed to have crossed into the country illegally. Other agents, who couldn't get ahold of him on the radio, found his body near the Shockey Truck Trail in Campo. He had been shot several times.
The $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Rosas' gun – a Heckler & Koch P2000 – is in addition to the $100,000 reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the agent's death.
The FBI is asking anyone with information concerning this case to call (85 565-1255. Callers may request to remain anonymous.
