Resident describes explosive incident

The neighbors said it sounded like thunder, or a sonic boom.

But what these San Ignacio Vistas residents heard on the morning of April 8 was in fact a sport utility vehicle — packed full of illegal immigrants — crashing through a bedroom wall.

Immigration battle comes to Green Valley

It’s supposed to be a peaceful place for thousands to retire, but some in Green Valley say the immigration battle is hitting too close to home. The latest incident involved an SUV crashing into a house. The vehicle was full of illegal immigrants and was being chased by the Border Patrol.



The quiet town of Green Valley is supposed to be a haven for retirees who want to spend their days on the golf course or go for a relaxing jaunt across the neighborhood. But the Amato’s got a surprise last week that wasn’t described in any Green Valley real estate guides.



It happened on Tuesday, April 15 at about 5:30 in the morning when the SUV with eight illegal immigrants inside slammed into their guest bedroom. Fortunately no one in the house was hurt, but the damage caused to the Amato’s house will take three months to repair.



The incident sparked a meeting between Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, various branches of law enforcement and community leaders with the common goal of protecting Green Valley from illegal immigrants.



“There’s a concern with repeated incidents being reported in the Green Valley area that our first responders are not responding appropriately,â€

She should call the local news channel and give them advance warning of her visit to local representatives!!! Let the cameras roll! This is an opportunity to give this issue the kind of exposure it needs to wake people up!!!
