Police: 12 Illegal Immigrants Found In Van

A dozen illegal immigrants were found inside a van during a traffic stop on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Sugar Land police said a citizen called in a tip that they spotted a suspicious vehicle full of people at about noon.

Officers stopped the van in the 14100 block of Southwest Freeway. Police said a man and woman in the front seat tried to run, but were quickly caught.

Investigators opened the back of the van and found 12 men lying down.

All 14 people were taken into custody, police said.
