Brownsville police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a man who authorities believe is responsible for a vehicle rollover that killed a passenger, authorities said.

Jacinto Martinez Mejia, 46, is wanted on the charge of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the October death of 37-year-old Jose L. Gonzalez.

According to police records, Gonzalez and Cesario Medellin, 53 were passengers in a 2000 red Dodge Caravan driven by Martinez.

When the vehicle rolled over, Gonzalez was ejected and died on scene, records show. Medellin and Martinez were taken to local hospitals where their injuries were treated.

According to police records, at the hospital a blood sample was taken from Martinez and sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety for analysis. Police investigators received the results in December showing that Martinez had a blood alcohol level of .25, more than three times the .08 limit in Texas for driving.

The last known address for Martinez was in the Cameron Park area, but authorities believe he has gone to Mexico, police documents show. He is described as 5’5â€
