Four Mexican men have been given federal prison terms in three different drug smuggling cases in Arizona.

All of the men pleaded guilty and were sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.

Federal prosecutors say 23-year-old Adrian Lopez-Martinez of San Luis, Mexico, was sentenced to 70 months for trying to import more than one ton of marijuana into Arizona in May 2009.

They say 29-year-old Antelmo Vega-Cristin of San Ignacio, Sinaloa, Mexico, and 23-year-old Efrain Plata-Jimenez of Acaponeta, Nayaritt, Mexico, each received two-year prison sentences. They were arrested in November 2009 in Tacna while trying to smuggle more than 400 pounds of marijuana into Arizona.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Martin Alonso Camacho of San Luis, Mexico, was sentenced to 60 months for trying to drive an SUV loaded with more than 600 pounds of marijuana into Arizona near Tacna in June 2009.
