Scorching weather leads Border Patrol to step up search and rescue efforts

EDINBURG, June 4 - U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Ronald D. Vitiello says his agents are stepping up their search and rescue efforts in an attempt to prevent heat related deaths during the scorching weather.
“Our primary duties are patrolling and protecting our nation’s borders, but we are also fully committed to reducing heat related injuries and preventing deaths in the Rio Grande Valley Sector,â€"Distrust and caution are the parents of security."
