Congressman from South Texas is chosen as the face of reform bill
By GARY MARTIN
SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS

WASHINGTON — Born into South Texas poverty as the son of migrant workers, a man who rose from shoeshine boy to sheriff to U.S. congressman is the face of the immigration reform bill set to slog its way through the House of Representatives this year.
That's by design. Rep. Solomon Ortiz, D-Corpus Christi, a 27-year veteran of legislative battles, isn't the only Democrat who concedes the road for immigration reform is steeply uphill in a mid-term election year.
But the bill's backers are counting on the Robstown native to draw on his life experience to argue that immigration reform is needed to protect Americans and immigrants alike.

My suggestion would be, you have worked hard on this side of the border, how about going to work on the other side for a while. The American people are tired of the old arguments, the billions of dollars in remittances, services, and benefits, the crime, the name calling, and constant demanding. We are tired of picking up the illegal alien tab, and so we say no more. Try that line in Mexico or elsewhere, and see how much sympathy you get and how much it sways people to allow the same for people coming there.
Tell the other people clamoring for more, take your brains, your families, and your work ethic, and make your homeland a better place. The Dream babies are nearing adulthood, or practically there when starting to attend college, so they can do as Mr. Obama suggests, and give of their time for the "change" in their own nations. George Soros, Bill Gates, and others have billions to help.
Think America, buy America, build America, protect America.
Psalm 91Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Great.....reward criminal activity by giving them amnesty and citizenship. Why don't we also reward undocumented pharmacist (drug dealers) by giving them a license to sell drugs?

Ortiz said illegal immigration must be stopped through a reform of broken laws.

S. Texas lawmaker taking on key role with immigrant bill

Any American who supports immigration reform is a traitor. I don't care how many fields for how many years a Congressmen may have worked in. I grew up with people who worked in fields. My school friends worked in fields when they were 12 and 13 and worked every summer thereafter until they graduated from high school. My Dad picked fruit in California. My cousin picked lettuce in California. So don't cry me a river cuz you worked in a field, Ortiz. You ended up in the US Congress. You've had a better life than most Americans. So shut your pie-hole.
If you support this legislation then you're nothing but a traitor like Guiterrez and Obama and all the rest of this scum in the US Congress selling out our citizens for foreign votes from illegal aliens.
These cry babies make me want to puke. It's 2010 ... time to get these sissy SOBS from Texas out of the US Congress. Send us some folks who don't think some hard work along their way to the top is a reason to cry a river and sell out their nation.
In fact, the average American works harder in 6 months than Ortiz has worked his whole life. Want to know what Ortiz has done his whole life? He in was in the Army in France in 1960, then he ran for Constable, and won. Then he ran for County Commissioner, and won. Then ran for County Sheriff, and won. Then he ran for Congress, and won. As for the "fields"? Well, there's no mention of "working in the fields" in his bio. He actually worked for a printer and shined shoes before he joined the Army.
How tough do you think Ortiz has had it as a Miliary Police Investigator, a Constable, a Sheriff, a County Commissioner and a US Congressman?
You know ... lying about doing working in agriculture with your parents when you were actually shining shoes and changing ink for the local newspaper is a new low in our immigration "debate" isn't it? It really is. Claiming you know the hardships of being "Mexican-American" in South Texas, when South Texas elected you to Constable, County Commissioner, County Sheriff and the US Congress is even lower than claiming you worked in the fields as a kid when you didn't start working until you were 16 and it was shining shoes and working for the local newspaper and joining the Army landing a non-combat assignment in France working as an MP investigator.
God deliver US from these lying whining sell-outs.
