Third chase within days

LA JOYA--- An alien smuggler leads police on a chase, and authorities only expect activity to pickup.

It was supposed to be a routine traffic stop, but a chase gave way, and ended in a crash.

The driver bailed out in Penitas and his passengers were right behind. Police found wet clothes in the truck leading them to believe the people inside were illegals. This is the third chase in only a week, and authorities tell NEWSCHANNEL 5 with the holidays right around the corner, they only expect things to continue picking up.
